It’s been a long 3 months since I last posted. Those 3 months have been a constant go-go-go between fellowship interviews, clinic duties, and other things like husbands and puppies.
Now that I am finally done with late night flights, running through airports, living on granola bars, and not knowing which city I am in, I can finally sit down and write a complete review of my fellowship interview experience.
Until that post, here are some pictures from the interview trail. I hope you enjoy!
Constantly trying to study for OKAPS while traveling (spoiler alert- this was WAY harder than I expected and my studying took a major back seat.)
Surprisingly healthy and delicious airport food (MSP is amazing.)
Airports with Qdoba = the best
I became an EXPERT packer and always packed an inordinate amount of snacks.
I took advantage of an airport Brooks Brothers store when my flight was delayed. I knew I would have to go straight to my interview without stopping at the hotel to iron my suit. They steamed it for me in the store!
In an effort to save money, I abused friends all across the country. Thank you to Liz, Michael, Daniel and Jackie, Sandra and Mic, Lucy, Monica, Tara, Jasmina, my sweet mom, and Kristyn and letting me crash at your place! (sometimes for less than 12 hours!)
I have the best friends anyone could ask for!
I experienced flights on each end of the spectrum- wonderful, and terrible. Crying babies, missed connections, insane turbulence, broken bathrooms; you name it. Pictured below: The sink was broken so they filled it with hand wipes!
I also saw beautiful sunsets, took a lot of naps, and watched a few movies.
One of the best aspects of the interview season was meeting so many amazing residents and making new friends. These lovely people will be my colleagues forever and I loved getting to meet them at various interviews and see familiar faces around the country.
Stay tuned for more posts about fellowship interviews!

Glad to have you back Andrea!! Trust me or not, I was just thinking about where you been when I saw you posted. Your posts are my ‘feel good’ space and I am not in a happy place right now. The struggle for residency, continuous night shifts at ER to sustain myself, 12 hour classes on weekends, life is super darn hectic. How you been? How did the interviews go? Looking forward to read all about it ?
P.S – I have missed you on IG ?

Hi Andrea! I’m an incoming M1 this year at IUSM in (Evansville) and was just wondering which campus you completed your 1st 2 years at? If it was Evansville, did you enjoy your experience there? Thanks for the informative videos! 🙂
