I have always been a science lover and it’s something that I think I will find fascinating for my entire life. Â The thing I like most about science is that you are able to ask ‘why’. Â You never have to accept something as an answer; you can always ask ‘why’ and question what you have been told. Â Searching for explanations and finally realizing the reason behind what you learn is the most rewarding aspect of science.
In this section of the blog, I hope to post articles I find interesting, answer any questions (actually it’s more like help find the answer to questions because there is SO MUCH I have to learn), and write about sciency topics I find interesting.
Please please please bring up anything you want to talk about in this section!

the story of my life! i LOVE science in general (cellular biology is my favorite), especially the ability to ask “why.” my recent research topic of interest is epigenetics. have you looked into that at all?
sooo fascinating to me. we think we know so much about the human genome because we have it “sequenced,” but really, we don’t (well, in my “very” profession opinion 🙂 )
all of that “junk” DNA…..has some purpose! i could keep going, but i’ll stop here!

Epigenetics is FASCINATING!! How the genes interact and what is turned on and off is so important and we know so little about it. You are right about the junk DNA too- it plays roles in cellular processes in ways we don’t understand- I’m sure of it!

You literally have NO idea how excited I am that I found your blog! I am currently a fourth year biology major studying at UCSB with hopes of getting into med school and becoming a doctor. I also have a passion for nutrition as well as medicine, so I am still trying to find a way to incorporate those two into a career. I am a new healthy lifestyle/running blogger and I have been looking for blogs to follow- and yours is definitely the one I can identify most with. I can’t wait to read through all your posts!!! 🙂
