3 MORE DAYS LEFT!!!! I seriously don’t know if I’m going to make it guys…
I’m repeating over and over in my head “I can do it, I can do it, 3 more days, 3 more days.”
But enough about Cardiology. Today I want to talk more about HIIT!
HIIT, or high intensity interval training is the uber popular workout because it is super quick, effective, and extensive studies have shown that short bursts of high intensity exercise have just as much or more benefit than longer, moderate exercise.
I’ve been trying to incorporate 10 minute workouts as often as I can, and my little 10 minute HIIT workouts are going really well! On the days when I work 12-13 hours, it’s so difficult to fit in a long workout, but I can definitely fit in 10 minutes so I’ve been really trying to do that every day.
I know I mentioned in another post that I use an interval timer app on my phone to set an 11 minute workout- 5 minutes of 20 seconds on, 10 seconds rest, a one minute break, and then another 5 minutes.
I usually pick 2 or 4 exercises. Yesterday, I started with burpees and v-ups for the first 5 minutes, and then I did mountain climbers and plank pushups.
(all of these images were taken from google. I was thinking about taking my own pictures doing the exercises, but I look like such a goon!!)
For the past few weeks I’ve just been picking 2-4 exercises that sound fun, but I also love Fitnessblender.com and their Youtube channel. They have TONS of amazing HIIT workouts. I also recently discovered 12 minute athlete. I need to try some of her workouts!
What are your favorite HIIT moves? I was thinking of compiling a list of a bunch of them!
