You guys… Finnegan LOVES winter. He can’t get enough snow. Before we got Finn, we read a little bit about Wheaten’s liking colder weather, but we have no idea what winter with a wheaten terrier puppy would be like…
Luckily, it’s been great!
Last weekend, we got our first little bit of snow in Minnesota. There wasn’t much, but it was enough for Finn to play in.
He loved running around in the cold. The snow was the perfect consistency for packing, so we started making snowballs to throw for him.
This past weekend, we got our first major snow in Minnesota. Saturday morning, we awoke to 5-6 inches of snow!
As soon as we took Finn out in it, he started running around, trying to find the deepest snow possible! We were afraid that he wouldn’t like it because the snow was so deep, but we were wrong!
Finn targeted the deepest snow and made it his job to run through all of it. He especially loved climbing on top of large snow mounds.
Overall, I think the snow was a BIG hit. His poor little paws were caked in snow concretions (what should I call those things?) so my mom brought us some little booties to try. He actually didn’t mind the booties, and I think they really helped keep his paws dry.
Our little puppy was exhausted after all that playing in the snow, and napped the rest of the day 🙂
(He has already outgrown his bed!!! He is getting too big too fast!)
I’m so happy that Finnegan loved the snow because I know we have many more winter days ahead of us here in Minnesota.
