Hello friends!
Another Monday is upon us! Can you believe it? I had the best weekend ever because my mom was here in Minnesota visiting! Before I get into all the fun details of my mom being in town, let me share my new Youtube video for today: Healthy lifestyle tips for pre-meds and residents.
This video is a Part 2 of my interview with Shannon Tosounian, my ultimate instagram girl-crush. She shares all her awesome advice and healthy lifestyle tips for pre-meds and residents. I absolutely love her approach and attitude when it comes to wellness. Spoiler alert** she thinks sleep is #1 and I totally agree!
Shannon is a DO and internal medicine resident. You can check out our first video all about being a DO here:
And after you are finished watching those videos, you can go follow Shannon on Instagram so you can see her do amazing things like this:
Okay, now onto a weekend recap.
My mom got here on Thursday night and I was seriously SO happy to see her! The last time I saw her was in November, and being an only child who spent tons of time with my mom growing up, I can’t stand being apart for that long! She brought presents with her (my birthday is in April) and insisted that I open one that night 😉
I had to oblige her, obviously, so I opened a present full of fun garden tools to use this summer when we plant our vegetable garden!
On Friday, I had to go to work, but I convinced my mom to come to work with me and join me for lunch. I got to show her around clinic and introduce her to my classmates which was really fun.
Here I am, hard at work (don’t mind our messy resident work room):
The rest of our weekend involved grocery shopping and picking out some beautiful spring flowers:
Playing tennis:
And cooking a delicious dinner together:
Overall, we had a wonderful wonderful weekend! I was so sad to see her go 🙁
What did you do this weekend? Do you like it when your parents come into town?

Hi Andrea! I tried creating some awareness about pcos this weekend, I write about PCOS ever since I felt I needed to not only as a doctor but as someone struggling with it too & you just inspire me to push myself. So glad I found you. I love it when my parents visit. Your momma is really sweet, please convey my regards to her. Loved new video too. You girls rock. Keep it up. 🙂

Hey Andrea!
Just wanted to say that I look forward to your new videos each week. I especially liked this one, as I’m a student dietitian. It’s good to be encouraged and reminded to be healthy because it can be a struggle at times – even if you’re in the health profession! Thanks.
