I don’t even remember how to blog anymore.
It’s been so long since I’ve actually written a blog post! All I know how to do is study:
I can even turn my dresser into a white board holder:
So, I don’t know if there is anyone out there still reading… but I’m going to try to get back on track- back on track with blogging, back on track with working out, and back on track with my never ending to-do list that I let pile up over the last few weeks while I was studying.
Does anyone else neglect everything else while studying for an upcoming exam? Whenever I have a test in the future, laundry is left undone, dishes sit in the sink for
days weeks, mail sits unopened, email is left unanswered… you get it.
Then, once the test is over, I am flooded with a tidal wave of things to do. Sigh… the life of a student.
After my OKAP test on Saturday (more about the test in my video yesterday) Kyle and I ran a few errands and then we went out to eat with my entire residency and program directors.
I even treated myself to a beer since the weather was lovely (in the 60’s in Minnesota!) and there are no new exams on the forefront.
Saturday night, I collapsed into bed at 6:30 and didn’t move until the next morning.
Sunday, Kyle and I actually went to church which is a rarity for us. We always intend to go, but with being on call every few weekends, and always having so much to fit in to our weekend days off, we often skip church. Lately however, I’ve been feeling like I really wanted to go, so we both ventured out into the drizzling weather Sunday morning and tried out a new Methodist church. I actually really loved the sermon and was excited to discover that all the preachers at the church are ladies! We will definitely be back.
After church we did some grocery shopping and I picked up a new find- Kevita Kombucha. I LOVE Kevita and so when I saw a new Kevita Kombucha at the grocery store, I had to try it. Normally I don’t love Kombucha but this drink, I loved. Highly recommend the pineapple peach flavor if you see it in the store.
We unloaded all our groceries and I quickly got to work in the kitchen prepping meals for the week. I made two trays of roasted veggies, which is our latest obsession. Every week we roast a ton of veggies and then Kyle and I both eat them with lunch and dinner all week. It’s such an easy way to make vegetables super flavorful, and super available for all your meals.
One tray had broccoli, mushrooms, carrots, and red peppers.
The other tray had onions and red-skinned potatoes. Mmmmm potatoes.
I also made a throw-back recipe- my turkey meatloaf muffins, which I haven’t made in ages but suddenly started craving last week.
Sunday afternoon, I quickly stopped by the hospital to see a patient, made the video for yesterday, and did a Skype session with one of my favorite pre-meds from Australia. Skyping with pre-meds, undergrads, and med students across the world is seriously SO FUN and I love it when I get to chat with people who inspire me to work harder, study more, and keep doing what I’m doing 🙂
As Sundays always do, the day ended quickly and the weekend was over.
Tell me about your weekend!!!!
