So much to tell you guys!!
After a relaxing weekend with Kyle, I packed up my stuff and hit the road for Indiana! I have the whole week off and so I planned to drive to Indianapolis to see my girlfriends for a day or two, and then home to Southern Indiana to see my mom and step-dad.
I made a quick breakfast to-go from an almost empty jar of almond butter, some frozen mixed berries, and greek yogurt. Have you tried the Costco almond butter? I highly recommend it 🙂
Then I was ready to start my 8 hour drive!!
It wasn’t long before I was hungry again, and so I stopped at Starbucks for an egg white and spinach wrap. I love those things!
Whenever I’m driving, I always try to find a Starbucks or Panera to stop at to eat, because I know the food their won’t make me feel yucky like Taco Bell would (but I do love Taco Bell! Shhhhh… don’t tell anyone)
What are your go-to places to stop for food when traveling?
During the drive I listened to a bunch of Podcasts. Currently my favorites are:
Undisclosed- this is the follow-up podcast to Serial for those who have listened to that one. It’s basically a mind twisting crazy story that just keeps getting crazier! Free Adnan!
Bulletproof Executive- Okay, so I don’t LOVE everything Dave Asprey says and I take most of it with a grain of salt, but the podcasts are always super interesting to me, I love the questions he asks, and he often interviews MDs and scientists. Even if a lot of the things he talks about don’t have supporting evidence, it’s cool to see the latest trends in biohacking, health, and nutrition.
Tim Ferris- This one is hit or miss for me. I really admire Tim and his passion for life. The podcast definitely inspires me to be my best and hustle, so that’s good! But sometimes I just don’t get into the episodes and I end up turning them off prematurely.
Later in the evening I arrived at my best friend Vanessa’s house. She just matched into pediatric residency at Dartmouth and is moving there in 2 weeks!! I am so excited for her to start residency and I was really glad I got to see her before she moves.
We stayed up until almost midnight chatting about medicine, life, nutrition (she’s an ultra endurance athlete and a vegan and she’s basically amazing). Seeing her just makes my heart so happy!!
And that concluded my cross-country drive to Indianapolis! I hope you’re set to have a fantastic Wednesday. I’m all cozy at home at my parents and I will be cuddled up with my computer answering all the emails that have piled up over the past few months 🙂
