Friday was my last overnight call on medicine! Actually, it was my last overnight call EVER! I will have plenty of nights in the hospital when I’m in ophthalmology I’m sure, but I won’t ever have an official “in-house” call again! For ophthalmology, we take at home call, meaning we can sleep at home until we get called in to come look at someones eyeballs 🙂
Hoorraaayyy!!! (Have I mentioned how much I hate night shifts?)
Since Thursday was my day off, I spent basically the entire day cooking and prepping meals for the week. I start Cardiology today, without a day off in between medicine and cardiology.
I made recipes from the TIU Bikini Series book and the TIU Nutrition plan and I have to say you guys- I am impressed!! The food is seriously so good!!!
I brought plenty of it to eat while I was on call Friday night 🙂
Saturday was a perfect day for me. I got home from the hospital around 10 am and went right to sleep. I woke up at 3 (a solid 4 and a half hours of sleep!) and went for a run outside in the beautiful 76 degree weather.
4 miles around the lake with some walking at the beginning and end.
I also stopped on this bench to relax and breath in the lovely warm air. So nice and rejuvenating!
Later Saturday night, Kyle and I went out to dinner to celebrate our 1 year wedding anniversary!!! I can’t believe that we got married a year ago! It has been such a wonderful year and I feel so lucky to have such a great husband 🙂
We went to Pescara, a nice restaurant here in Rochester. Our meal started with some oysters.
Then we enjoyed our meals- scallops for Kyle and shrimp for me.
We split potatoes and asparagus for sides.
And my favorite part of the meal was the ice cream and cookie dessert. Does it get any better?
Then I went home and went to bed at 9 pm. All in all, a great day!!
Hope you are having a fabulous weekend friends!!
