I have been both looking forward to and dreading today because for one, I am getting my hair highlighted (yay going back to blonde! What was I thinking dying it darker???) but today is my last day of float month and I start a month of medicine inpatient tomorrow.
I hate to say that I’m dreading my upcoming medicine month…. but I don’t expect to love it. I’m just tired of inpatient medicine and really ready to start ophtho.
Enough of me complaining. Sorry! Let’s move into last week’s workouts:

Seattle is definitely a favorite this week! What a wonderful city full of so many beautiful little areas to explore! After Ashlee and I shopped around Pike Place Market on Sunday, we came home to pick up Brian and then did a quick tour and wine tasting at Chateau Ste. Michelle which is a beautiful winery in Seattle.
Then, we went home to rest before Ashlee and I cooked dinner! We have cooked together before and always have fun, so I was so excited to cook with her again. She has a Pike Place Market cookbook, so we selected our recipe from there, and bought most of our ingredients at the market. We made a lemony, peppery, insanely delicious clam dish with bread crumbs and tons of flavor.
On the side, we roasted some asparagus and had crusty bread to scoop up all the clam juices. Yum!
On Monday, Ashlee and I left the house early to go to hot yoga at Core Power Yoga. Have you heard of Core Power Yoga? It is a chain of yoga studios and based on my experience in Seattle, I am obsessed. The studio was beautiful and the class was so perfect- pretty challenging but not overwhelming. I am so sad that we don’t have a good hot yoga studio in Rochester.
Will someone come open a Core Power Yoga studio with me in Rochester? I think people would love it!
After yoga we stopped for some fresh juice. We tried to walk around and window shop outside for a while, but it was raining and pretty darn cold, so we took our fun back inside.
Ashlee took me to the Starbucks Reserve Tasting Room which is the.best.place.ever. It’s like a Starbucks museum! You can see how they roast the coffee and what they do with their beans, you can buy all kinds of different roasts, and you can order tons of wonderful coffee and espresso drinks too.
Ash and I ordered a coffee “flight” and tried 3 different kinds of roasts.
We also split a chocolate croissant on the side which I think I could eat every day of my life and be happy.
It kept raining for most of the day, so we did some shopping in the afternoon and then stopped for frozen yogurt. I told you we ate a ton on this trip!
Ashlee also too me to the beach and we watched the sun start to set over the water while we played on the swing sets.
That night we went out to eat and the dinner was so good it almost deserves it’s own post! Maybe I’ll skip it for now? Are you all Seattle’d out?
Kevita Pineapple Coconut
Another favorite this week besides everything Seattle is this new Kevita flavor I tried. I love the Kevita strawberry and pomegranate coconut flavors but this pineapple one caught my eye last week. I drank it after a sweaty at-home yoga session and loved it! So refreshing!
Acure Skin Care Products
I am in love this this brand! For several weeks, I’ve been searching for a skin care product that gets a low toxicity score on my “think dirty” phone app. Have you seen this app? The app lets you scan products and tells you how clean the ingredients are and whether or not it’s a potentially harmful product. There are so many nasty things added to cosmetics, so I have been searching for some good ones without all those yucky ingredients.
I bought an Acure body lotion years ago at Whole Foods and really loved it, so when I started noticing their products in Target, I was pumped! The lovely people at Acure then sent me a bunch of their skincare products to try out and I can’t wait to tell you about them. I’ve only used them for 2 days, so I want to give them a little more time on my face before I so a full review (and giveaway!) so stay tuned.
Phew! Now that all that Seattle recapping is done, we will be back to regularly scheduled blogging over here. Hope you all have a fantastic day!
Will you open a Core Power Yoga Studio with me in Rochester?
Do you eat as much as I do when you go on vacation? It’s the best part!
