Happy Friday! I don’t go into work until 7pm so I’m taking advantage of the day to photograph some new recipes, do laundry, and clean the kitchen. Oh, and blog 🙂
I’ve seen quite a few bloggers do “Friday Favorite” type posts, and I always really enjoy them! I like to be introduced to new things by people who I know have similar interests and tastes as I do! I have a few new things that I LOOOVE and I thought I would start to share them on Fridays. If you do a Friday Favorites or ‘Things I Love Friday’ type post, let me know!!
So in no particular order, here are some things I’ve been loving lately:
I got a gift certificate to Sephora for Christmas and I knew I wanted to spend the money on skin care. I am really into keeping my skin looking fresh and young (see this post here about my stress acne problems!). I found a little sampler kit of Ole Henriksen products and decided to give them a go. I truly LOVE all three of the new products I’ve tried. This lotion goes on in the morning and at night. It is silky smooth and not too light, but not too heavy. I felt like the Philosophy Hope In A Jar lotion was almost too light for me. The Ole Henriksen lotion smells incredible- kind of fruity but mellow. I also haven’t noticed it causing any breakouts from being too heavy.
This serum goes on in the morning and apparently has high vitamin C and is great for brightening your skin and boosting collagen. I think it makes my skin feel kind of tight and fresh. It doesn’t have much of a scent. I put it on after cleaning my face, but before the lotion.
The Eye Gel goes on at night and you put it under your eyes and around the corner of your eyes up to your brows in a ‘C’ shape. It is very light and cooling and feels SOOO good under your eyes. It is supposed to lift, firm, and de-puff overnight.
(this links to the full zip but I got the 1/4 zip 🙂 )
I am OBSESSED with this sweater! Kyle and I both got one with Christmas money from my Grandma (thanks Peggy!) and neither of us has taken it off in about a week. It’s heavier than a normal sweater, super cozy, soft, I could go on and on. Seriously- treat yourself to this amazing sweater. I got the 1/4 zip but I love the full zip too.
I picked up this planner at Barnes and Nobles because it was only $15 and I needed a new planner for the year. I really think it’s perfect for me! I hate planners with spiral bindings, because when they’re in my backpack or purse, the spirals get stuck on things and get all bent and then the planner won’t open well. This has a nice binding that won’t be altered when you throw it in your bag.
Also, I like having plenty of space to write things for each day. My planner sometimes doubles as a diary, and I like to keep track of things that happen throughout the day. There’s a big section for notes in the back, which is great if you want to write things down and you forgot a notebook (that used to happen to me all the time during meetings or random lectures). I got a sparkly gold color.
I made 2 batches of yummy soup and I can’t wait to share them with you! Look out for recipes in the next few days.
So, that marks my first ‘Favorite Things’ type post! If you hate these types of posts, let me know and I’ll rethink it 😉
