When I was at the grocery store the other day, I was perusing the aisles for anything exciting and Whole30 compliant, and I spotted these hot dogs.
I am not a huge hot dog eater (although I looooove Morningstar Farms veggie dogs- my mom calls them “not-dogs” which I think is so clever 🙂 )
Anyways, these hotdogs sounded like something new and yummy, so I brought them home! The next morning I cooked one up on the stove with some greens, and egg white, avocado, and a peach!
What a delicious hot dog! I can’t believe they are allowed on the Whole30- but they are so I’m not going to question it! I wouldn’t eat them all the time but I think they make a great option for protein when you don’t want to eat more eggs.
As for other food lately, I’ve been loving the chicken salad I made- I’ve eaten it probably 6 times.
Chicken salad/sweet potato combo for a quick lunch:
I also made a breakfast sausage/meatloaf in the crockpot, but I didn’t LOVE the flavor. I sliced it and had it with eggs a few times.
The best meal this week has been spaghetti squash and zucchini noodles with homemade sauce! To make your own sauce, all you need to do is sauté some onions, any veggies you like, and a meat of your choice (chicken, turkey, beef), add in a can of tomato sauce or tomato puree, lots of garlic powder, oregano, salt, and pepper, and simmer until you think it tastes good. The key is to add LOTS of salt and garlic 🙂
I roasted some asparagus to go with the meal. I couldn’t decide between spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles, so I had both!!
I made my zucchini noodles using this spiralizer which I just bought from amazon!

I think I liked the zucchini noodles better than the spaghetti squash. I didn’t even cook them- just heated them up in the microwave for a minute.
Look how long this noodle was!!
I’m slowly getting my workout mojo back! I seriously LOVE the new cable class I found at my gym. I’ve gone 3 times so far. We have it in the training studio and everyone gets their own cable machine. We also use dumbbells, medicine balls, and bands- it’s a great workout!!
With the beautiful weather I’ve gone for a couple runs outside as well. My legs aren’t loving running so much right now. Sometimes running just hurts and doesn’t feel good for me, so I generally lay off when that happens. But still, I’ve had a few decent but short runs 🙂
Sad news- my research month is over! I start my medicine month this weekend and I’m afraid my schedule will be nothing like the relaxing one I had in September 🙁 But, I’m sure I will enjoy it and learn a ton. I was able to tie up most loose ends of my research this past week, and I even got some studying in!!
Of course I needed some coffee to help me.
Have you ever tried “not-dogs”? Do you love them?!
Which do you prefer- strength classes or cardio classes?
Iced coffee or hot coffee?
Okay those were random questions…sorry!
