**Thank you all SO much for your kind comments on all my recent posts! I can’t tell you how much your support and encouragement means to me! I love you guys so much!!**
This past week was a little crazy with the wedding, leaving for Orlando 2 days later, and then heading to Indianapolis for graduation the day after I got back. Sunday we left Indy and drove back to our parents house to pack and get ready to leave Monday for a quick trip to Naples to visit my grandma who was unable to make it to the wedding. We aren’t leaving for our actual honeymoon until May 17, so this is a little “pre honeymoon”.
With all that going on, I only worked out once all last week. I wasn’t worried about it at all. I had worked out in the weeks leading up to my wedding and I don’t think taking a week off hurts anyone 🙂 But, I was itching to workout again and so early Monday morning I laced up my sneakers and went out for a short run.
On the day of my wedding I ran 4 fast miles and felt amazing. I felt light and energetic and didn’t feel tired at all. This run was a bit different. I felt heavy and my legs were stiff. I was so tired after only 2 miles haha!
So I ran 2 steady miles and then ran/walked the rest of the way… better than nothing right?
Later on in the day I got on my treadmill for a few more miles, and those didn’t feel any better. Oh well!
At 8am sharp, Kyle and I left the house to go to the social security office to change my last name. It’s kind of sad saying goodbye to Wenzel, but I am also eager to take Kyle’s last name, Tooley. The dynamic of our relationship hasn’t changed much at all since we got married, but I do get lots of happiness from calling him my husband and having the same last name.
Before we left, I made myself a smoothie with banana, blueberries, almond milk, and matcha powder. It was my first time using matcha powder and so I will have a full review later for you. I liked it a lot in the smoothie! We’ll see how it fares when I add it to other things like lattes and baked goods!
Monday night we flew out to Naples Florida. We took a late flight so that we could be there for 2 full days to see my grandma. We didn’t get into Fort Myers (the closest airport to Naples which is 45 minutes away- that makes no sense to me!?!?) until 11:30 and then rented a car to drive to our hotel in Naples. Luckily, we got the sweetest rental car!!
This Ford Fusion is SO luxurious!!! If anyone is in the market for a new full-sized vehicle, check out the fusion! I want one!
Tuesday morning we slept in and woke to blue skies and Florida sunshine! I took my coffee out on our balcony and just sat, breathing in the salty air and feeling the warm breeze. Ahhhhhhhhh.
Kyle and I went straight down to the pool to get some sun. It didn’t take long for me to start feeling hunger pangs, so I ordered breakfast at the hotel restaurant to-go and ate it by the pool.
Egg white, spinach, and avocado wrap, with queso fresco and fruit! I shared just a few bites with Kyle (he got a blueberry muffin) and tried not to eat all the tortilla, but I enjoyed every last bite of the eggs, fruit, and cheese!
We spent the entire afternoon walking along the beach, playing in the pool, and going down the awesome 100ft slide at the hotel pool (so fun!)
Later in the afternoon I knew I had gotten enough sun for the day, so I went to the hotel gym. I thought about running on the beach, but my shoulders were feeling a bit red… so I thought again.
I ran 3 miles and then did some sprints for 10 minutes.
All while watching Dance Mom’s (my new favorite show!!)
Kyle and I cleaned up and left to go see my grandma at 6:30 pm. She is so funny and proper- she has specific times to entertain her guests and last night we were to come for dinner. We will see her again today and I’ll get some good pictures. Last night I didn’t take any because I was too busy showing her pictures from graduation and the wedding!!!
Do you like to relax and just sit while on vacation? Or do you like to be up and moving? Kyle likes to just lie by the beach and I can only handle that for about 5 minutes, so I go for long walks down the beach. Today we’re going to rent bikes 🙂
