Yesterday, the best thing in the whole world happened: Kyle went to yoga with me!
As you may know, I am doing a 30 day yoga challenge (on day 12 yippee!!) and yesterday, Kyle came with me to yoga! I’ve been begging him to try it for years and he finally caved and came. I didn’t expect him to love it, I just wanted him to see what it was like and appreciate how great it is! The only experience he’s had with yoga is the P90X yoga (which is TERRIBLE in my opinion!) so I wanted him to see there is better yoga out there!!
I had an extra mat and towel to give him, so he was prepared. We even went over a few moves like Sun Salutation beforehand.
The class we went to is called “Slow Flow” and is hot yoga, but much slower paced than vinyasa. Last night’s class was actually super slow which was perfect since it was Kyle’s first time!
After class was over, he signed up for the new student special: 2 weeks of unlimited yoga. I couldn’t believe it! He liked it!!! I was so excited and filled with joy I didn’t take a picture. But I will next time- just you wait!!
This whole 30 day yoga experience is really wonderful so far. It has given me much more of an appreciation for spending time on your mat each day. I always stray from yoga and forget about the practice, so now that I am required to go, it’s helping me get back in the habit of it. I felt great for the first 5-8 days but now I’m starting to feel really sore. I woke up this morning feeling stiff. I’ve heard that the 30 days gets really challenging right in the middle and that your body gets tired, but hopefully I make it over the hump!
I also really hope there is good yoga in Rochester Minnesota! I have to keep up with my new habit!
I don’t have too much else to add to this post unfortunately. I was so busy yesterday I didn’t think to take any pictures! I did school work all morning, had the best snack ever:
Rice cake with strawberries and peanut-butter.
We had a lunch meeting for the ophthalmology group and I definitely ate a piece of greasy cheese pizza. Dang-it!!
I did a 45 minute turbo-fire class before going to yoga just to get in some cardio.
And I ate a late deliciously random dinner of salsa crockpot chicken, cucumbers, cauliflower, and avocado:
Have a wonderful day everyone!!
