I am blogging from my NEW Macbook Air! I am already so obsessed with this beautiful little piece of machinery, I can’t even explain it. Kyle and I went to the Apple store yesterday to purchase my new computer since my old computer sold on Ebay in about 5 minutes and now I have to ship it off to its new owner!
It didn’t take long before I was out the door with my new computer. But first, Kyle tried to steal it! Sneaky!
I set it up right away and now I’m all comfy on the couch blogging 🙂
P.S. Those pink shoes I’m wearing are the new Reebok Skyscapes and I love them! Review post coming soon.
Since that was the most exciting part of my day, I will bore you with the rest of it but if you want the other good part of this post, you should just scroll to the bottom to see a picture of my gallbladder.
My wedding is coming up so quickly and so I am making a big effort to eat mindfully and make healthy choices. I started my day with oatmeal, egg whites, and blueberries (I think I’ve made this for breakfast at least 500 times).
Lunch took place during a lecture, so I made sure to pack everything before I left the house that morning. I made little turkey roll-ups with avocado in the middle, a big green salad with broccoli slaw and balsamic dressing, 1/2 grapefruit, and one of my healthy almond joys. So filling and fresh!
We had a pediatric radiology lecture and talked about the different imaging modalities you can use for a child who presents with different things like difficulty breathing, belly pain, or a limp.
One of my classmates brought in mini chocolate cupcakes and I definitely had
one two. If they are mini sized they don’t have calories right?
To offset my 2 cupcakes from lunch (and a macaron from Whole Foods- man, I suck at being healthy!) I got on my treadmill. I intended to run 4 miles at my steady 6mph pace and then do 20 minutes of HIIT sprints to make it a full hour, but after 35 minutes I was bored out of my mind.
Whenever I am not feeling a workout, I either a) don’t work out, or b) do a class workout or video because that is more fun. Yesterday I wanted to chose a) but I ended up putting in a TurboFire 45 minute DVD and actually had a great time. I was super sweaty by the end and it felt good to dance around my room to “Boom I Got Your Boyfriend” (anyone else know that song?)
Okay, here is the cool part of this post: I present to you, my gallbladder:
As part of our radiology rotation we did an ultrasound lab and got to ultrasound each other! I learned SO much! I had no idea how versatile ultrasound was. You can use it to diagnose ALL KINDS of things! Congestive heart failure, pulmonary embolism, liver disease, gallstones, volume status, kidney disease, I could go on and on.
Can anyone guess what this is:
That is MY HEART!!!! Can you see the 4 chambers? In real time, you can see it beat and the valves open and close- it’s pretty amazing!
One of my classmates said that if she couldn’t be a doctor she would be an ultrasound tech and I agree! What an amazing job to have! You can diagnose so many conditions, you get to see the body in real time using a non-invasive technique with no ionizing radiation- love it.
I hope you all have a great day!
Tell me: What kind of computer do you have? Do you like it?
