Whoops!! It seems it has been a LONG time since I last blogged….
When I first started this blog I told myself that I would never do it if it felt like a chore or my heart wasn’t into it. Well, this holiday season I just wasn’t feeling it so I stopped blogging for a bit. I spent Christmas with my family and didn’t worry about social media.
It was actually quite lovely!
But I can’t leave you guys for too long! So, let’s catch up!
IT’S 2014!!!!!!!!!! It’s the year I will become an MD, change my last name, and start actually making some money practicing medicine- it’s unbelievable.
Kyle and I spent New Year’s Eve in Chicago with some of my best girlfriends.
Now, I’m back in Indianapolis preparing for the snowpocalypse. We are supposed to get 10 inches of snow today and tomorrow the high temperature will be NEGATIVE 10. AHHH!!!!!!!!!
Here is our state as of now: (not my house)
I’ll keep you posted if we get snowed in or if I get frostbite on my toes from trying to walk outside.
4th year is truly the best year ever because there are only 3 required month long rotations and you get to do electives for all the other months! I took October and November off for interviewing and studying for boards. In December I took a Pathology elective that only required me to go into school once! I did everything else at home on my computer. This month, I am doing another research elective in the same lab I worked in last time.
I was planning on starting my lab work tomorrow, but with all the snow and low temps, I don’t know…. Keeping my fingers crossed! I want to get started!!
I am so proud of myself- I have gone to yoga A LOT lately! Well, not a lot a lot, but way more than I usually do. I’ve also been really enjoying walking on my treadmill for an hour. My treadmill has 15 levels of incline, so every minute I increase the incline up to 15, then decrease back down to 0 each minute- that one pyramid takes 30 minutes. I do it twice for an hour long, sweaty walk!
I know the benefits of lifting weights, I do. But I just love cardio oh so much. I don’t get the same sweaty, endorphin happiness when I lift weights. All the weights are so heavy! I just don’t LOVE it. Whenever I get into a weight lifting mood, I take full advantage of it and lift heavy because I know it won’t last. A few months ago I was lifting a lot and now, not at all. C’est la vie.
I always believe that the best type of exercise for you is that one that you will actually do. So I do what I feel like doing and that’s that!
