It’s Friday! That means in 3 days I will be taking my board exam in Atlanta… so exciting!
Most of my days this week have looked a lot like this since I have boards coming up:
I’m scared to look into the future because as soon as my boards are over, INTERVIEW SEASON starts!! So far I have 14 interviews lined up and I’m still waiting to hear from a few schools. November is going to be the craziest month ever. I’ll be flying all over the country, crashing on lots of couches, and touring tons of different medical schools. Can’t wait!!!! I will let you know which cities I will be in in case anyone wants to meet up!
In between studying, Kyle and I have found lots of time to have fun. We carved the pumpkins from our pumpkin patch date night!
Kyle chose to make those cute faces! I love them.
Of course I had to pic the most ambitious carving design. I chose this cute witch and free-handed her. About half way through I was regretting picking such a complicated design, but I think she turned out okay!
Can you tell it’s a witch?
I also made this incredible fall salad the other day- you have to try it. It’s nothing special, but oh so delicious!!
Chopped pears, walnuts, and gorgonzola cheese, with a creamy balsamic vinaigrette. All salads should have these ingredients.
Now, can we please talk about the new study coming from researchers in Connecticut saying that Oreos are just as addictive as cocaine?
I’ve been saying this FOREVER!!!!!!
I always make the analogy that life isn’t supposed to feel as good as it does on drugs like heroin and cocaine, and food isn’t supposed to taste as good as chocolate cake. Nothing in nature tastes as good as Dorito’s. Eating all this artificial, processed, high-fat/high-sugar food, will trigger the same neurochemical pathways that drugs do! The pleasure you get from those types of foods is an artificial high, one that doesn’t exist in nature. And we wonder why people are addicted to it?
Here’s the actual article if you’re interested! http://www.conncoll.edu/news/news-archive/2013/student-faculty-research-shows-oreos-are-just-as-addictive-as-drugs-in-lab-rats-.htm#.UmEYsRZxKDo
Are you addicted to Oreos?
