My mom and I arrived in Portland, Oregon Thursday around noon. As we were getting ready to walk off the plane, we were talking about how to take the public transport system to the hotel.
A girl sitting behind us said, “are you going to Fitbloggin?” Instant new friend! Katie O. from Call Me Trouble is the nicest, funniest girl ever and I am so glad we met in the airport. She, my mom, and I all headed to the hotel and chatted on the way there.
We checked into the hotel hosting Fitbloggin– The Nines- and were immediately impressed with the beautiful decor.
Check out our room!!
Isn’t it so special?
After my mom and I were successfully checked into the hotel, we were both hungry for lunch. Portland is known for it’s large selection of food trucks so of course my mom and I headed out to find a good truck.
The weather in Portland was beautiful all weekend, but we noticed that it started to get hotter later in the afternoon each day. By 4 or 5pm it was getting close to 90-95 each day! Walking to the food trucks in the blazing sun had both of us just on the verge of sweating. Because of that, neither of us wanted hot food. So we turned down a ton of food trucks that looked wonderful only because we didn’t want to sit there sweating while eating something hot.
Just when we thought we would never find a good food truck, we stumbled upon a Greek truck with a delicious looking menu. We opted to split the greek salad with falafel and a plate of hummus.
This meal hit the spot! The greek salad was so fresh and had huge chunks of feta cheese and kalamata olives. The hummus was freshly made, creamy, and wonderful.
After lunch it was getting close to time to check into the conference. I headed downstairs to check in, pick up my badge, and get all my goodies. Reebok had bags, new Nano shoes, and the cutest tanks ever for each of us- I wore my shoes all weekend.
Thursday evening was a bunch of fun ice-breakers, getting to know everyone, and just having fun! Stay turned for Friday’s recap!
