First of all, I totally forgot that yesterday was supposed to be the end of my BESTOWED giveaway! So I will give you one more day to enter! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, and you could win a free Bestowed box of goodies!!
Today, I want to talk about something that’s been irking me lately. It’s me. I’ve been irking myself.
It seems as though for the past few months, I have become way more lax in my healthy habits. Every day I feel like it’s easier to make a bad choice. I am feeling lazier and lazier. Yuckier and yuckier.
SO NO MORE!!!
I hereby declare that I am now the healthiest person you’ve ever known. Processed food? No way! Sugar? Of course not!!! Intense, daily workouts? Absolutely!!
My main stance on the health-front has always been one of moderation. I would never pass up cake at a friends wedding. But this past weekend I went to Alabama for my beautiful roommates wedding and I had three pieces of cake… not great.
When I’m craving something sweet I will often buy a luna bar or some other single serving treat. But in the past few weeks there have been days of 3 luna bars… not so great.
And lastly, my workouts have gotten easy. I’ve been walking uphill on my treadmill, doing short workout DVDs at home… nothing too life changing. No wonder I feel stagnant!
It is so easy to become complacent in almost anything you do. For me, I’ve let my healthy habits become so lax, I no longer think it’s unusual to have processed food multiple times a week. These changes didn’t happen overnight, but slowly over the past few months.
The great thing about this realization is the fact that I can simply pick myself up and put myself back in super-healthy mode asap. I think it’s 100% normal to have periods when you are less focused on certain aspects of your life. Then you wake back up, realize, “hey, those things were important to me!” and start over again.
So here is my plan to start again:
1. Workout in the MORNING. Yep. I’m going to do it. Yes I am.
2. Eat veggies at 3 meals per day. Lately it’s been like 1 or 2 meals… gonna change!
3. Drink 3L + water per day. My water intake has been DOWN the drain. It is really difficult for me to get in a gallon a day, but the difference I feel when I’m drinking tons of water is so significant, I will try my hardest to at least get 3L.
4. Things I will NOT do: Skip workouts unless it’s a rest day. Drink diet soda. Eat processed foods of any kind (at least for a while).
I’m actually feeling really pumped and motivated to get back to my ‘normal’ lifestyle.
Who’s with me???
