It doesn’t get more warm and cozy than homemade, warm, cinnamony, applesauce.
3 granny smith apples
3 red apples of your choice (I used Braeburn)
1 cup water
1 TBS cinnamon plus more cinnamon if you want 🙂
Peel apples. I like to leave a little bit of peel on for color and texture. If you leave some red peel on, the applesauce will be a bit pink and beautiful!
Slice apples into equal sized pieces. Add to a big pot with 1 cup water. Sprinkle cinnamon on top and mix.
Let apples cook and soften, stirring occasionally for 20-25 minutes on medium heat with the pot covered. If you think they are too thick, add more water. Once the apples are soft, smush them with a fork 🙂
Have a warm and cozy day!!
Do you have an applesauce recipe with other ingredients?
Some call for sugar but I don’t think you need it. One time I made applesauce with orange peels, lemon peels, and way more spices. I kind of thought it tastes like potpourri 🙂
