First off, thanks everyone for the amazing comments on my post yesterday. You are all so insightful and I’m glad I’m not alone with my feelings.
If you want to be sore tomorrow, you should try this back and biceps workout I did yesterday. Try to use the heaviest weights you can; on each set, the last 2-3 reps should be very difficult. I got started on this workout right after I left the clinic yesterday. I swear, I lift heavier when I wear my lifting gloves. Not because they help my hands, but because they make me feel so cool 😉
Circuit 1 (done 4 times)
- Lat Pull Downs 4 x 12
- 1 arm dumbbell row 4 x 12
- Alternating hammer curls 4 x 12
- Incline bicep curls 3 x 12
- High cable curls 3 x 12
- Body rows 3 x 10 (I used the TRX bands for this, but you could use any low bar)
Finish with 5 minutes on the rowing machine. Try to go as far as you can. Repeat this workout next week and try to beat your time!
I’ve been struggling with something these last few mornings. I wake up super early (4 or 4:30) and I’m usually pretty hungry. I don’t want to eat breakfast at this time however, because if I eat so early, I will be ready for lunch by 9am! So, I either tough it out and starve until 6 or 7 when I finally have breakfast. Or, I have something small like 1/2 banana with some almond butter or something.
I actually made these cookies for someone else, but I realized they could be the perfect solution to my problem! These breakfast cookies are small and won’t weigh you down. They’re made with few, clean ingredients: perfect for a pre-workout or early morning snack!
I need to make myself some now!
Sunrise Breakfast Cookies
- 2 bananas
- 1 cup applesauce
- 1 1/2 cup oats
- 1/2 cup dried cherries
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tsp cinnamon
Smash bananas with a fork until they are smooth. Mix in all other ingredients. Let sit for 10 minutes.
Spoon dough onto baking sheet and bake at 350F for 30 minutes.
What do you eat first thing in the morning? Do you wait to eat?
